16 Regional Sports Nets Will Present More than 1000 MLB Games In HD

With the Major League Baseball season officially under way today, FSN said it will offer more than 1,000 live baseball telecasts in high-definition during the 2008 campaign.

FSN’s 16 owned-and-operated regional sports networks will collectively offer live, high-definition telecasts of approximately 1,024 MLB games—63% of FSN’s entire baseball schedule of 1,622 games—more than double last year’s high-definition telecasts, according to network executives.

FSN Detroit covers Magglio Ordonez and the Detroit TigersOverall FSN’s 16 0 & 0s are planning to produce more than 1,600 live events in high-definition featuring MLB, NBA, and NHL games, making FSN the most prolific producers of HD sports programming in the country over the next 12 months.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer more than 1,000 Major League Baseball games in hi-def this season,” said Randy Freer, president of FSN Networks, in a statement. “Increasing our commitment to high-definition programming allows FSN to offer greater value to our viewers, team partners, and distributors.”
