Turner, SI, Vegas Team Up

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will make a big push during the National Basketball Association’s All-Star Weekend.
Turner Sports, Sports Illustrated and R&R Partners, the LVCVA’s agency of record, will team up on an integrated marketing initiative set to kick off with the All-Star festivities Feb. 17-19 from Houston.
The companies said the multiplatform campaign “will promote Las Vegas as a world-class tourist destination and the site of the 2007 NBA All-Star Game by taking branded content to a new level.”
Elements will include a segment during Turner Network Television’s 2006 All-Star Saturday telecast featuring Sports Illustratedswimsuit model and actress Molly Sims, who stars in TNT series Las Vegas,along witha presenting broadband sponsorship.
The LVCVA will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the “Kenny and Charles Sound-Off” segment on TNT OverTime through the end of the season, and R&R will launch “Be Anyone,” the first new spot for 2006 in the LVCVA’s “What Happens Here, Stays Here” campaign, as well as an interactive “Be Anyone” microsite and fantasy sweepstakes, accessible through the association’s site (www.visitlasvegas.com).
