Don’t blame Discovery Channel if the mood around the network seems crabby.
New 10-part series Deadliest Catch, a look at the dangerous lives of Alaskan crab fishermen, is set to premiere on Discovery in April.
The network said Deadliest Catch will document the end of an era -- what veteran crab fishermen are calling "The Last Rodeo."
Due to the belief that the race against the clock contributes to a high injury and mortality rate, Alaskan authorities will eliminate the traditional time element from crab fishing after this year, putting a simple, slowed-down, seasonal quota system into effect.
