DirecTV Inc. has signed Texas Tech basketball coach Bobby Knight and former Los Angeles Lakers/North Carolina star James Worthy to promote its “Mega March Madness” out-of-market subscription-sports package.
Knight and Worthy will make several national on-air appearances on TV outlets, including ESPN this coming week, discussing the upcoming NCAA college-basketball tournament -- which begins March 17 -- as well as promoting the $59 subscription package, a DirecTV spokesman said.
The package will include 56 games through the first three rounds of the tournament, 30 of which will be telecast in HDTV, the company said.
