Gemstar Shakes Up Management Team

The executive upheaval at Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. expanded Friday, as the company said TV Guide Television Group president Ian Aaron and executive vice president Gloria Dickey were “leaving the company,” and that Doug Macrae, president of TV Guide Consumer Electronics, had retired.

The shakeup follows the resignations in December of Gemstar-TV Guide CEO Jeff Shell and executive VP of affiliate sales and marketing Ray Hopkins.

New Gemstar CEO Rich Battista said in a prepared statement Friday that TV Guide Consumer Electronics division chief operating officer Michael McKee was named acting head of the division.

Gemstar officials declined to say whether Aaron, Macrae or Dickey would be replaced.
