There’s an ‘i’ in Paxson

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 6/28/2005 1:15:00 PM

Paxson Communications Corp. is rebranding its TV network, changing its moniker from Pax TV to ”i,” officials said Tuesday.

The new i brand reflects the company’s new network-programming strategy -- to provide an independent broadcast platform for producers and syndicators to reach a national audience.

“This change in brand name reflects our strategy to operate our primary network as independent television by offering a mix of original series, movies, specials, sports and news that appeals to a variety of interests,” Paxson president Dean Goodman said.

Paxson is currently digital-multicasting 45 of its 60 TV stations, and it will continue to air programming under its Pax TV brand on one of its digital channels over the air and in select cable homes.
