Finch to Do It Herself

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 11/10/2005 12:09:00 PM

Scripps Networks named a senior vice president and general manager for its DIY Network.

Kathleen Finch, who had been senior VP of primetime programming at sister service Food Network, will take the reins at DIY, the programmer said Thursday.

At Food, Finch was responsible for series including Emeril Live!, Iron Chef America, Unwrapped, Behind the Bash and Sugar Rush.

In moving to DIY, she becomes part of a newly created unit headed by Bob Baskerville focused on growing Scripps Networks' emerging digital networks, DIY and Fine Living.

“Kathleen is a savvy programmer who has had a big impact at Food Network,” Baskerville said in a prepared statement. “She knows how to create compelling content and brings us much-needed experience in the world of network ratings.”

Scripps Networks also announced several other related personnel moves.

Freddy James has been promoted from director of programming at DIY to VP of programming.

At Fine Living, Kent Takano has been promoted from director of video-on-demand/broadband programming to VP of programming.

And Bob Tuschman has been elevated to senior VP of programming at Food.
