DirecTV Inc. will launch Turner Network Television’s HDTV feed Friday, Feb. 17.
The direct-broadcast satellite provider said TNT in HD will be available as part of its HD package, which currently includes ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD, Discovery HD Theater, HDNet, HDNet Movies and Universal HD, priced at $10.99 per month.
DirecTV customers with HD equipment can also receive Home Box Office’s HBO HDTV and Showtime Networks Inc.’s SHO HD as part of their premium-package subscriptions, pay-per-view movies and local HD programming in select markets.
“Not only will our customers have access to TNT’s popular original programming in HD, but they will also see NBA [National Basketball Association] live game action in HD, giving them a courtside seat right in their living room,” DirecTV executive vice president of programming acquisition Dan Fawcett said in a prepared statement.
