Cablevision’s Hildenbrand Eyes Retirement

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 3/21/2006 1:33:00 PM

Cablevision Systems Corp. executive vice president of engineering and technology Wilt Hildenbrand is the retiring type.

The 30-year Cablevision veteran will assume the role of senior advisor of engineering and technology, clearing the path for his expected retirement in November 2008.

Hildenbrand will also no longer serve as an executive officer of the company.

James Blackley was promoted to senior VP of corporate engineering and technology, from senior VP of technology architecture.

Blackley -- who will report to chief operating officer Tom Rutledge -- will manage the engineering and technology, enterprise-information-technology and electronic-media departments.

“Perhaps more than any other single individual, Cablevision’s technology leadership is a credit to Wilt Hildenbrand,” Cablevision CEO James L. Dolan said in a prepared statement.

“By creating one of the most advanced telecommunications systems in the world, Wilt has helped to transform Cablevision into one of the nation’s leading media and entertainment companies,” Dolan added. “Wilt’s successes have also established him as one of the most respected technology innovators in the industry, and we are pleased to know that he will remain an employee of the company for the coming years.”
