Comcast to Buy Arris E-MTAs

Comcast Corp. will buy a minimum of 1.2 million Arris “Touchstone” embedded multimedia-terminal adapters over the next two years.

Arris said it will equip the E-MTAs -- the combination modem and phone adapters located in customers’ homes, which deliver Internet-protocol voice and data traffic -- with battery backup for service reliability in case of power failures.
