Camiant Unveils IP Content-Management Software

By Karen Brown -- Multichannel News, 4/10/2006 2:04:00 PM

Camiant Inc. unveiled a new product that will help operators to manage Internet-protocol-based content flowing over their networks.

The new “Content Delivery Applications Manager” will add to Camiant’s existing policy-control products, which monitor content delivery.

Camiant is angling the IP content-management system for operators dealing with the increasing number of broadband subscribers who want to access their HDTV content, online games, movies and file downloads on a variety of devices using their high-speed-Internet connections.

The new management software can help operators to deliver that HD content with set quality-of-service standards, and it allows speedy download of that content. In addition, the management software links into subscriber databases to assure that the content customers seek is authorized for their service, and it can deliver the content reliably even as demand for content rises, according to Camiant.
