Ericsson Licenses Kasenna’s ‘PortalTV’ Suite

Ericsson AB will license Kasenna Inc.’s “PortalTV” suite for integration with its broadband-access products under terms of an agreement announced Tuesday.

The two vendors said Ericsson's networking products and Kasenna's PortalTV suite -- which includes “Kasenna LivingRoom” and “MediaBase XMP” -- will “provide a fully integrated, one-stop Internet-protocol-TV solution.”

Ericsson and Kasenna added that the combined solution will allow IPTV providers to deliver advanced services such as video-on-demand, network digital-video recording, “StartOver TV” and customizable electronic programming guides.
