By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 6/12/2006 12:51:00 PM

Broadcom Corp. said Monday that it received an informal information request from the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding its stock-option grants, AP reported.

The chip-maker also announced that it initiated a voluntary review of its stock-option grants due to federal investigations into several companies' alleged backdating of such grants, according to AP.

Broadcom said it will cooperate fully with the SEC’s request, AP reported.
