NBC Universal named former Major League Baseball executive George Kliavkoff to the newly created position of chief digital officer.
Kliavkoff, who previously ran MLB’s interactive media unit, will oversee the operations of NBC Universal’s new broadband and wireless efforts “as well as digital innovation and product development, portal and partner relationships,” the company said Tuesday. He’ll also oversee NBC’s Digital Studios unit, which produces original and interactive content for all digital platforms.
