Juniper Networks said its RESIP (Resilient IP) laboratory in Munich, Germany, was expanded to include testing, certification and demonstration facilities for Internet-protocol-TV and multiplay service offerings.
The facility had previously been focused on next-generation voice-over-IP applications.
Juniper added that the RESIP laboratory is working closely with the IPTV and Multiplay Center of Excellence Laboratory in Westford, Mass.
“Providers recognize that IPTV is becoming a popular service requirement for consumers and, therefore, [that they] need an efficient process for designing their multiplay networks to best optimize for success in a competitive market," Siemens Communications vice president of home entertainment Giovanni Benini said in a prepared statement.
"The expanded RESIP facility enables our provider customers to explore IPTV-solution alternatives in a realistic, open and scalable environment,” he added.
