Newcomer WOW Tops Power ISP Study

J.D. Power and Associates announced the results of its 2006 Internet Service Provider Residential Customer Satisfaction Study Wednesday.
WideOpenWest, included in J.D. Power’s study for the first time, topped the list of ISP customer satisfaction, pulling in 765 out of a possible 1,000 points.
WOW was followed by: Bright House Networks (735), BellSouth (727), EarthLink (718), Verizon Communications (716), Cox Communications (711), Qwest Communications International (707), Frontier (704), CenturyTel (701), Time Warner Cable (697), Cablevision Systems (694), AT&T Yahoo! (690), Embarq (680), Windstream (670), Insight Communications (659), Charter Communications (648), Comcast (647), Mediacom Communications (633) and RCN (628). The industry average was 693.
J.D. Power also found that 56% of residential ISP customers subscribe to high-speed-Internet service, up 11% from 2005, and market share of dial-up service dropped from 55% in 2005 to 44% in 2006.
