Broadband venue The Horror Channel announced a deal to provide content to Internet-to-television video-on-demand service Akimbo Systems.
Akimbo subscribers can browse the guide and select Horror to download movies and original series, which are available this month through a new Internet on-demand set-top box, the RCA Akimbo Player. The box retails for $199.99.
Akimbo is also accessible in the Online Spotlight area of Microsoft Windows Media Center 2005 PCs, and it is coming soon to the AT&T Homezone home entertainment service.
Akimbo features more than 13,000 on-demand videos from 200 content providers. A monthly subscription costs $9.99.
