Two HBO series will return for their second seasons Sunday, Jan. 14.
At 9 p.m. (EST/PST), the 10-episode final season of epic drama Romewill pick up in 44 B.C., as “Caesar is dead, brought down by assassins’ knives in the Roman forum. Lucius Vorenus stands on the brink of madness after the death of his wife. And a brutal power struggle for control of the empire is just beginning,” the network said in a release.
Immediately following Rome at 10 p.m. will be the second season of Emmy Award-nominated comedy Extras.
The six-episode second season of the series from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant -- creators of Golden Globe-winning British Broadcasting Corp. comedy series The Office -- stars Gervais as “fortysomething aspiring actor Andy Millman, who gave up his day job to pursue fame in the movies, only to find that he just couldn’t land the big parts,” the network said.
