By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 1/31/2007 11:44:00 AM

Fox Sports en Español acquired the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language television rights to the 58th Caribbean World Series.

The network will air the four-team, six-day baseball tournament for the ninth consecutive year, with the first pitch being thrown when Venezuela takes on the Dominican Republic Friday at 3 p.m. (EST).

This year’s tournament will be held at Roberto Clemente Walker Stadium in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

“We're proud to be once again the only Spanish-language network in the U.S. to carry the Caribbean World Series and to offer our viewers an exclusive glimpse of their favorite big-league stars in action," Fox Sports en Español executive vice president and general manager David Sternberg said in a prepared statement.
