Report: Zucker to Succeed Wright as NBC U CEO

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 2/4/2007 7:02:00 PM

NBC veteran Jeff Zucker will be named CEO of NBC Universal this week, succeeding Bob Wright, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.

The newspaper, citing four unnamed company sources in its report, said Jeffrey Immelt, chairman of NBC U parent General Electric, decided to make the change late last year.

Zucker, 41, rose up the corporate ladder at NBC after a successful run as executive producer of top morning-news show Today. He was named head of NBC’s primetime-entertainment unit in 2000, and in December, Zucker was named CEO of NBC U Television Group.

NBC U officials couldn’t be reached for comment Sunday.
