By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 2/5/2007 11:44:00 AM

The directors of Broken Trail on AMC and High School Musical on Disney Channel went home Saturday night with Directors Guild of America awards.

Hollywood veteran Walter Hill won the award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television for overseeing the AMC Western flick, which starred Robert Duvall. Hill won a DGA award in 2004 for the pilot of HBO’s Deadwood.

Kenny Ortega won for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children’s Programs for piloting Disney’s runaway teen-aimed hit. It’s his first DGA award, and he’s directing the upcoming sequel, scheduled to air in August.
