Baltimore County OKs FiOS TV

Verizon Communications Awarded Another Video Franchise in Maryland

The Baltimore County (Md.) Council voted Monday night to grant Verizon Communications a video franchise for its FiOS TV service.

The cable franchise covers approximately 312,000 households. Verizon said it will begin offering the service by midyear in parts of the Owings Mill, Cockeysville and Reisterstown areas.

Verizon already has Maryland franchises in Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties and more than 30 independent municipalities.
