Amazon Unbox on TiVo Unboxed

Download Service Available to More than 1.5M Broadband-Ready DVR Subscribers

Amazon Unbox on TiVo is now available to more than 1.5 million broadband-ready TiVo subscribers following a successful beta test by the online retailer and the digital-video-recorder vendor.

TiVo subscribers with Series2 and Series3 broadband-capable DVRs can now buy and rent thousands of movies and TV shows.

The two companies also announced that Sony Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios joined their content stable, which already included CBS, Fox Entertainment Group, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Warner Bros. Entertainment.

TiVo and Amazon said anyone who signs up for Amazon Unbox on TiVo by April 30 will receive $15 in free movie and TV-show downloads.

Amazon.com launched its Amazon Unbox movie-download service in September.
