By Linda Haugsted -- Multichannel News, 3/14/2007 12:50:00 PM

Can Tony Soprano whack Cablevision Systems’ iO: Optimum Voice telephone service? Both are up for recognition in the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing's Hall of Fame.

The nominees this year are Fox News Channel for its Fair and Balanced branding campaign; HBO for its marketing of the hit mob TV show; Cablevision for its branding of the iO phone product; Home & Garden Television for its Dream Home giveaway; and NBC Universal for The Complete Olympics.

The winner will join the company of past winners such as Lifetime Television's breast-cancer-awareness campaign, CNN's Gulf War coverage and MTV's iconic I Want My MTV campaign.

The new Hall of Fame inductee will be announced during CTAM Summit 2007 in Washington, D.C., July 23-25.
