The Kansas City metropolitan statistical area will become the 15th market where AT&T is offering its Internet-protocol-TV service, going up against the local Time Warner Cable franchise.
AT&T said U-verse TV will initially be available to “tens of thousands of homes” in the Kansas City metropolitan area, including parts of Kansas City, Kan., and the towns of Leawood, Lenexa, Mission, Mission Hills, Olathe, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Roeland Park and Shawnee.
The telco said last month that it would roll out in two markets in March: Kansas City and Dallas-Fort Worth. AT&T U-verse services are available in parts of 15 markets in six states, with plans to continue expansion into new markets throughout 2007.
At last count, the telco had 7,000 customers for the service.
