Cablevision to Roll Out Discovery HD, NGC HD

iO: Interactive Optimum Subscribers Notified of Additions

Cablevision Systems plans to launch Discovery HD Theater and National Geographic Channel HD Thursday.

While Cablevision hasn’t yet announced carriage deals with the Discovery Communications- and Fox Cable Networks-owned cable channels, the cable distributor recently notified some iO: Interactive Optimum customers of the channel additions.

NGC HD will run on iO channel 726, while Discovery HD Theater will be placed on channel 727, according to the notices sent to subscribers.

Cablevision said it plans to make an announcement involving the expansion of its HD lineup later this week.
