ESPN will make a quarterback change in the broadcast booth for itsMonday Night Football when the 2007 National Football League season kicks off.

NFL analyst Ron Jaworski, who has been with the sports network since 1990, will join Mike Tirico and Tony Kornheiser in the booth.

The 17-year NFL QB replaces fellow QB Joe Theismann, who “has been offered a prominent football-analyst job with the network,” ESPN said.

“This new lineup will enhance our presentation of Monday Night Football, our most important property," ESPN executive vice president of studio and remote production Norby Williamson said in a prepared statement. "Ron has covered the NFL from many different perspectives, and he is totally tied into the issues and trends from around the league. We appreciate the work Joe has done for 19 years and continue to talk with him about another high-profile football role with ESPN.”
