The Haverstraw Town Board in New York’s Rockland County approved a video franchise Monday night for Verizon Communications’ FiOS TV.
The Haverstraw franchise covers the town's unincorporated hamlets of Camp Hill, Felters Corners, Garnerville, Mount Ivy, Samsondale, Theills and Willow Grove. Each incorporated area of Haverstraw, as well as all other incorporated areas of New York, must conduct its own negotiations with Verizon for a video franchise.
The telco now has 36 New York franchises.
In other FiOS TV news, portions of Upper Marlboro in Maryland’s Prince George's County began receiving the fiber-to-the-home video service.
