Moseley Joins History Channel

Veteran TV Marketer Named Senior VP of Marketing

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 6/10/2007 6:03:00 PM MT

The History Channel

hired industry veteran

Chris Moseley

to lead its marketing charge.

As senior vice president of marketing, Moseley, who reports directly to History executive VP and general manager

Nancy Dubuc

, has oversight for all marketing, promotional and branding campaigns for History and offshoots History International, The History Channel en Español and Military History Channel across all platforms, including history.com.
Moseley assumes the role formerly held by

Mike Mohamad

, who moved to the advertising side as senior VP of partnerships in March.
Moseley -- whose career has included executive roles at Discovery Communications, ABC and Hallmark Channel -- most recently served as president of Moseley Marketing, which counted Lexus and Hendricks Investment Holdings among its clients.
Another was History, as Dubuc said Moseley -- who began her new job last Wednesday in

New York --

had been serving as a consultant to the network on as-needed basis since February.
Dubuc, who began heading History in January, said she had been concentrating on strategizing new directions for the network early in the year and then focusing on the advertising upfront, so she enlisted Moseley’s help for various marketing needs.
She added that Moseley’s “depth and breadth of experience instantly raises our profile in marketing communities with affiliate sales, ad sales and consumers.”
Dubuc said one thing History and Moseley would examine is whether History International, History en Español and Military History would spawn portals of their own or continue to be filtered through history.com, which will be fully redesigned in the fourth quarter. “It’s something we’re going to look at,” she said.
Moseley is scheduled to host a Promax/BDA panel, “Selling Your Creative, Agency-Style,” at

2 p.m.

June 13 in the Hilton New York.
