Retirement Living TV Grabs Seat at Daily Caf

Cable Network Targeted Toward 55 and Over

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 6/12/2007 11:33:00 AM

Retirement Living TV, the cable network created for people aged 55 and over, will launch Daily Café June 18 on DirecTV’s Channel 364 and regionally through Comcast.

The two-hour live weekday program is hosted by former CNN anchors Mary Alice Williams and Felicia Taylor and features a wide variety of fun and informative segments created for mature audiences. Contributing host Sandra Pinckney, formerly of Food Network, will conduct interviews with specialists in fields ranging from fitness to home decorating.

Daily Café will provide news updates from NBC News, delivered by veteran correspondents such as Rehema Ellis.

Daily Café’s regular contributors include: fashion and makeup expert Kim Foley; home designer Christopher Lowell; life coach Harriette Cole; film and culture critic Arch Campbell, a veteran of the entertainment reporting beat who’s currently with WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.; gossip columnist Michael Musto of The Village Voice; gardening expert Joel Lerner; etiquette expert Judith Martin, also known as Miss Manners; investing and wealth management advisors The Murray Twins; travel-bargain specialist Tom Parsons; sex therapist Dr. Ruth; and RLTV’s resident gerontologist, Alexis Abramson.

Daily Café is RLTV’s Today Show, but designed for boomer and senior audiences,” vice president of programming Elliot Jacobson said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to have top-notch journalists like Mary Alice and Felicia hosting the program, and our partnership with NBC News will provide our viewers with national stories that are timely and relevant to them.”
