HBO Enters the Kennedy Compound
Premium Cable Network Reached Deal with Independent Producer

HBO signed an exclusive deal with leading independent producer David Kennedy to develop programming for the network across all genres.
Kennedy was president of Dan Curtis Productions from 1997-2006, where he executive-produced such critically acclaimed television movies as Saving Milly for CBS and Emmy Award-nominated Showtime film Our Fathers.
He recently formed his own company, Kennedy Films, after the death last year of his partner, Dan Curtis, the legendary creator/producer of cult classic Dark Shadows and producer/director of Emmy-winning miniseries War and Remembrance and Windsof War.
Kennedy began his career at NBC Sports, where, at the age of 22 he produced his first TV special -- the first live broadcast of the America’s Cup races. He later opened the New York office of Trans World International, a division of Mark McCormack’s International Management Group, now the world’s largest independent producer of sports programming.
Kennedy then served a 12-year stint at International Creative Management in New York, where he held the position of executive vice president, television. While at ICM, his clients ranged from Robin Williams to Dr. Seuss to the American Film Institute, as well numerous independent production companies, including Dan Curtis Productions.
Kennedy left ICM in the mid-1980s and moved to Los Angeles to become senior VP of programming and sales for Taft Entertainment.
