Women in Cable Telecommunications broke the 6,000-member mark last week with the addition of Julia Guyah, sales-overflow supervisor for Comcast in Miramar, Fla.
As of Wednesday, the organization registered 6,025 members.
“This growth in membership is a testament to the hard work of our volunteer chapter leaders, national boards, corporate champions and the WICT staff,” WICT CEO Benita Fitzgerald Mosley said in a prepared statement. “WICT continues to work with the industry to develop women leaders and provide programming and advocacy initiatives that benefit our members and their companies.”
This is the first time that WICT -- a 25-year-old organization -- surpassed 6,000 members. The previous record, set in 2006, was 5,581.
Membership in WICT is open to all cable professionals, male or female. Members receive discounted registrations to WICT national programs and access to programming from local chapters.
