Spike TV and game publisher and developer Kuma Games introduced Webisodes enabling TV viewers to jump into the bank-robbery-gone-wrong plot line of the male-targeted network’s new series, The Kill Point.
Users can play along as a police officer or bank robber in a high-intensity hostage crisis via a free download of the “gameisodes” from the Web sites of Spike or Kuma.
As in all of Kuma's high-quality episodic games, The Kill Point is being developed using the HalfLife 2 game engine. The multiplayer game allows up to 16 cops and robbers to play simultaneously.
“The Kill Point is a perfect property to extend from the linear channel to the PC screen," Spike TV digital media director of production Vin Farrell said in a prepared statement. "We have created original Webisodes on spiketv.com and now, with the launch of the new online game, we're giving our viewers an all-encompassing entertainment experience. The Kill Point game is great for fans of the show, as well as gamers who want a great PC action game to play."
The first two hours of The Kill Point -- the eight-hour limited series starring John Leguizamo -- debuted July 22.
