The Yankees are hot, and so are their ratings.
The YES Network has finished first in New York primetime ratings in 27 of its last 29 game nights.
The network, which is averaging a 4.5 household rating for its Yankee telecasts, scored a 7.4 rating on August 7 when the Yankees beat the Blue Jays -- its best since 2005.
On August 6, YES’ Yankees Classics program, which featured the 1979 matchup between the Yankees and Orioles on the day Yankee captain Thurman Munson was buried, pulled in the networks highest rated program in its history.
After the All-Star Break (July 12 to present), Yankee game ratings have increased 11.4% from before the break on the network.
During the July sweeps period in 2007, the network had a 23.3% increase (5.3 rating) compared to the July sweeps in 2006 (4.3 rating).
