MavTV Signs Up with GlobeCast

Network Targeting Men Uses Globecast to Deliver Standard and HD Feeds

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 9/13/2007 9:53:00 AM

MavTV, the independent network targeting men, has turned to content management and delivery company GlobeCast for international distribution of both its standard and HD feeds, officials said Thursday.

The MavTV brand has seen interest for its programming beyond America’s borders.

“Since most of our lineup is truly original content not being aired on other networks, we believe partnering with a company that has the ability to transport and deliver our signal over five continents made good business sense,” MavTV CEO Steve Severn said in a prepared statement. “With 20 offices around the globe, GlobeCast can really help us extend the MavTV brand worldwide.”

MavTV can be seen in more than 55 key markets via cable in the United States, and has distribution agreements on mobile platforms in the here and in Australia, New Zealand and India. In addition, the MavTV live feed and original content can be found internationally on broadcast and cable beginning later this year.
