Cox Goes Mobile in Northern Virginia
Operator To Trial Pivot, Beginning Oct. 2

Cox Communications will launch Pivot in its Northern Virginia division Oct. 2, bringing the operator to six markets where it offers the wireless-phone service provided in partnership with Sprint Nextel.
The service will be available this week to Cox subscribers in Fairfax County and the Fredericksburg, Va., region, according to spokesman Alex Horwitz. Cox has about 240,000 subscribers in Northern Virginia,
Cox currently offers Pivot in San Diego; Phoenix; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla.; and parts of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
