AT&T announced a total planned investment in Texas of “nearly $1.25 billion” in 2007 to support the expansion of U-verse TV, wireless and other network infrastructure.
The telephone company said this year’s expenditures bring its two-year investment in the state to almost $3 billion. The investment will support various wireless, voice, data, video and broadband infrastructure and services, including new cell sites and enhanced coverage and services, expansion of U-verse TV and Internet services, and maintenance and installation of fiber-optic lines.
On Monday AT&T announced that U-verse TV is now available to 400,000 households in the Houston area. The Internet Protocol TV service is also available in parts of the San Antonio and the Dallas-Fort Worth.
