ABC Family ordered a third season of the original drama Kyle XY, a series that has become the network’s signature show, from ABC Studios, officials said Friday.

The cable network ordered 10 episodes of the show. A start date has not been determined yet as the series is currently in production on the back 10 episodes of the second season.

Kyle XY also stood as basic cable’s No. 2 program in the time period in female teens, 220,000; No. 3 in teens 12 to 17, 319,000 and females 12 to 34, 429,000, and No. 5 in adults 12 to 34, 651,000.
