AT&T has gotten into the swing with TBS HD in the middle of the Major League Baseball playoffs, announcing that its U-verse TV subscribers now access to the network’s enhanced feed, effective Friday.
“With the Major League Baseball playoffs kicking into gear, many of our customers have been asking for TBS to be added to our HD channel lineup,” said a blog post on AT&T’s corporate-communications Web site. “Today, we're proud to announce it as the latest HD channel to be available across all of our U-verse areas.”
TBS HD will be available on U-verse TV channel 1112. AT&T last month announced that it planned to add five HD networks, including TBS HD, before year end.
Turner Broadcasting System inked a flurry of deals for TBS HD leading up to its coverage of the first round of the MLB playoffs, which started Oct. 3. Cable operators carrying the channel include Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Cablevision Systems and Bright House Networks.
TBS, which also will televise the National League Championship Series, has a seven-year deal with MLB that runs through 2013.
