Norm Mills, one of the founding members of the American Cable Association, passed away Monday after a long battle with a heart condition, officials at the lobbying group said Tuesday. He was 84.
Mills was president of Colstrip Cable TV in Billings, Mont. His funeral arrangements are being completed, but it is expected that his funeral will be Saturday in Billings.
Mills was one of the founding members of the ACA in May 1993, when the lobbying group was created by the Small Cable Business Association. He was the ACA’s longest-serving board member and a board member emeritus.
“Truthfully, it’s hard to imagine an ACA without Norm,” ACA president and CEO Matt Polka told his members. “However, it is my hope that his drive and determination will continue to propel us as part of Norman’s lasting legacy.”
In April at its summit in Washington, the ACA honored Mills for his 14 years of service and gave him the title of emeritus board member.
