Fox Business Rings In First Day

Fox News VP Magee, Anchor Glick On Hand At NYSE’s First Bell

Fox Business Network, which has kept a tight rein on its initial programming schedule ahead of its Oct. 15 launch, kicked off its coverage today with Fox Business Morning at 5 a.m. (ET) today.

The one-hour show, featuring Nicole Petallides, Jenna Lee and Ashley Webster, was followed by the four-hour Money For Breakfast, with Peter Barnes, Liz MacDonald and Alexis Glick. The programming included MacDonald on location at CNBC headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., where she noted: "We’re out here in sleepy, bucolic Englewood Cliffs-- it’s kinda cold out here…It’s hunting season and we hear that peacocks are in season. Who would have thought that anyone could cover the stock market out here, but here we are and we’re gonna give it a go!”

During the show Fox News executive vice president Kevin Magee and FBN vice president of business news Glick also appeared at the bell ringing for the New York Stock Exchange. Glick was later seen on air chatting with the “Naked Cowboy” in Manhattan’s Times Square.

Up next: Fox Business, which extends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tom Sullivan and Cheryl Casone, hosted the first two hours, followed by Connell McShane and Dagen McDowell, who conducted an interview with Charles Schwab. Stuart Varney, who has been with Fox News Channel’s business team since 2004, will slide into this slot in a couple of weeks, according to Fox officials.

Initially, David Asman, the host of FNC’s Forbes on Fox, is on tap to head the final three hours. Today, he was paired with McDowell.

Happy Hour, the after-work show, featuring Cody Willard and Rebecca Gomez speaking to traders at the Big Apple’s Bulls & Bears tavern, will run until 6 p.m Neil Cavuto, who hosts cable’s most popular business show, Your World with Neil Cavuto, signs on with Cavuto. The Fox News senior vice president and managing editor will feature an exclusive interview with Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on his first Cavuto show. At 7 p.m., FBN will unveil America’s Nightly Scorecard with Asman. The show is described on FoxBusiness.com as: “The winners, the losers ... we're keeping tabs on sports, stocks, box office blowouts and more! Tonight’s guest: Virgin Group boss Richard Branson

Syndicated radio personality Dave Ramsey is set to dispense personal financial wisdom on The Dave Ramsey Show on FBN at 8 p.m.

Cavuto, America’s Nightly Scorecard and Happy Hour repeat at 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., respectively.

On the weekends, FoxBusiness.com list the network’s schedule with encore editions of Happy Hour, America’s Nightly Scorecard, Cavuto, Best of Money For Breakfast and The Dave Ramsey Show.

“The Cost of Freedom,” Fox News Channel’s Saturday business block, will be reprised on FBN later that day, Bulls and & Bears, Forbes on Fox, Cashin In and Cavuto on Business will air again on Sunday.

Paid programming reigns from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. FoxBusiness.com also lists paid programming from midnight to 4 a.m. on Saturday.
