Harron Communications announced another cable system acquisition Tuesday, again involving Mississippi.

Harron, of Frazer, Pa., said it was buying cable systems with about 19,000 subscribers, in Mississippi and South Carolina, from Northland Cable Networks, which is majority owned by Providence Equity Partners. The transaction is expected to close before the end of the year.

Waller Capital Partners advised Northland.

Earlier Tuesday, Harron said it was buying 33,000 subscribers from Vista Media III, in Mississippi and Alabama.

“This transaction signifies a new operating region for Harron, and we are excited to begin providing service in the southeast,” Harron chairman and CEO Joel Cohen said in a release announcing the Northland deal. “This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to be opportunistic and acquire assets in growing, vibrant communities, and we will continue to evaluate opportunities to expand our portfolio of systems and enhance our operating efficiency.”
