Verizon launched its FiOS TV service in Holliston, Mass., challenging incumbent cable TV operator Comcast.
Holliston, which counts 5,000 households, is one of 57 communities in Massachusetts where Verizon is marketing FiOS TV.
Verizon won a video franchise in Holliston last month. The telephone company said FiOS TV is now available in more than 400,000 Massachusetts households.
“FiOS TV gives consumers in Holliston an outstanding, superior alternative for their video entertainment,” Donna Cupelo, Verizon region president for Massachusetts and Rhode Island, said in Monday’s announcement. “Customers in Holliston who liked what FiOS did for their Internet connection will love what it does for their TV.”
