High-definition service Mojo plans to go high finance in the new year.
In Demand Networks’ male-targeted service will launch a finance-oriented block on Thursday nights, starting Jan. 24, 2008.
Delving into the lives of money people with three long-form, personality-driven series about stock traders, capitalists and start-up entrepreneurs, “Mojo Money Night” will be home to a trio of shows, including the returning Wall Street Warriors.
“Last year we found that the world of Wall Street finance struck a chord with the Mojo audience,” said David Asch, senior vice president, programming and new media for In Demand Networks in a statement. “So this year we’re not only going back to Wall Street, but also exploring the equally fascinating worlds of venture capital and entrepreneurship.”
Bobby G: Adventure Capitalist focuses on the life of capital management investor Bobby Genovese as he globe trots buying, selling and turning around money-losing companies that range from an underwater mortuary in Florida to a Canadian bottled water outfit. Mojo has ordered eight half-hour installments from Nick Davis Productions.
Start-Up Junkies is Mojo’s series about “serial entrepreneurs” who thrive on the excitement of working on new ventures. On display over eight episodes from Screaming Flea Productions: the folks working on Seattle-based Earth Class Mail, a global service delivering postal mail online.
On the second season of Wall Street Warriors, Mojo’s affluent male audience will track the triumphs and travails of a hedge fund manager, floor trader, private equity fund manager, commodities pit trader, a rookie trader and a pair of stock brokers to the super-rich as they try to extract as much money as possible from volatile markets. The network has ordered 10 half hours from Radius Productions.
