Cablevision Launches CNN HD

Cable TV Operator Offers 42 HDTV Channels

Cablevision Systems said it added CNN HD to its HDTV programming lineup.

The network, the 42nd HDTV network available to the cable TV operator’s iO: Interactive Optimum customers, is available on channel 725.

Cablevision said it counts more than 2.5 million iO customers, accounting for more than 81% of its subscriber base. About 800,000 iO customers have HDTVs and HD set-tops., Cablevison said.

The company also boasted that it does not charge its pay TV subscribers premium fees to lease HDTV set-top boxes. It also offers several HD video on demand channels.
