Manfredi Promoted At NBC Universal

Exec Tapped As EVP, General Sales Manager For Cable, Non-Theatrical Sales

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has elevated Frances Manfredi to executive vice president, general sales manager, cable and non-theatrical sales.

Based in New York, Manfredi, who had been serving as senior vice president, cable sales, oversee all cable, airline, and non-theatrical sales in her new post.

In her former position, which she held since May 2005, Manfredi had licensed a number of NBC primetime series and Universal movie packages to cable networks. Among the recent pacts signed under her watch: TBS picking up The Office, G4 and Mojo acquiring Heroes and USA Network securing Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

“Frances is a tremendous leader and continues to be one of the top sales executives in our industry," said Barry Wallach, president, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, to whom she will continue to report, in statement. “In an environment that is continuously changing, she has remained a true constant because of her innovative deal-making. Over her seven years with NBC Universal, she's executed a long list of groundbreaking deals for this company.” 

Prior to joining NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, Manfredi served as senior vice president, cable sales, NBC Enterprises from October 2001 through May 2004. While at NBC Enterprises, she launched a cable sales unit for the newly established distribution area of NBC. Manfredi oversaw the off-network cable sales of Crossing Jordan, Fear Factor and many other series during her tenure NBC Enterprises.

“I am truly excited by the future prospects for domestic distribution," said Manfredi in a statement. “New media platforms are emerging in almost all of our deals and dovetailing nicely with traditional distribution strategy. It will be fascinating to continue to explore this new frontier.”
