Cox New Orleans Launches HorseRacing TV

System Rolls Network on Digital Sports and Information Tier

HorseRacing TV said Cox Communications launched the network on its New Orleans system.

Cox began running a free preview of HorseRacing TV on Nov. 20, and plans to add it to its Digital Sports & Information Tier Nov. 24.

Under the Cox agreement, HRTV will appear on Channel 313 of the Digital Sports & Information Tier, alongside the NHL Network, the NFL Network, NBA TV, The Golf Channel and ESPN News. 

HorseRacing TV also said Wednesday that it will debut live coverage of the Fair Grounds’ 81-day racing season in Louisiana.

Its racing season includes Louisiana Champions Day on December 8, featuring 10 races for Louisiana breds, including three quarter-horse races; Santa Sprint Saturday on December 22, which is headlined by four $100,000 stakes events for sprinters; Louisiana Preview Day on February 9; and Louisiana Derby Day on March 8, which features the Grade 2, $600,000 Louisiana Derby, one of the key Kentucky Derby prep races.
