By Steve Donohue -- Multichannel News, 12/4/2007 1:27:00 AM MT

Turner Entertainment Networks promoted Court TV veteran Marc Juris to executive vice president and general manager of the network, which will rename itself truTV Jan. 1.

Juris will oversee day-to-day operations and strategic planning, including a major rebranding initiative that will result in Court TV’s metamorphosis into truTV. He reports to Turner Entertainment president Steve Koonin, who made Tuesday’s announcement.

“As the January launch of truTV approaches, I can think of no person more qualified to lead the newly transformed network than Marc,” Koonin said. “His outstanding leadership and accomplishments have not only had a tremendously positive impact on the network but also made the industry stand up and take notice. I anticipate an extremely successful future for truTV with this talented and innovative executive at the helm.”

Juris will lead a group of executives that includes Darren Campo, senior vice president of programming; Mary Corigliano, senior vice president of marketing; Andy Verderame, senior vice president of creative services; and Robyn Hutt, senior vice president for current programming and specials.

Marlene Dann is overseeing In Session, the new brand for Court TV’s daytime block of trial coverage, which wont be rated by Nielsen Media Research.

Juris has served as general manager of Court TV Networks since November 2004. In addition to overseeing strategic planning, primetime programming, marketing and advertising, one of his primary tasks in that role has been spearheading the network’s rebranding efforts.

Prior to Court TV, Juris spent eight years at Rainbow Media Holdings, and was president of the company’s Fuse Networks unit.

Before joining Fuse, he served first as senior vice president, original programming, American Movie Classics, and then as general manager.

Also at Rainbow Holdings, Juris served as senior vice president of regional programming for Metro Channels, where he developed, positioned, launched and managed three regional, live television networks branded MetroTV. Additionally, he has held positions at King World, CBS Television Network and CBS Cable.

A graduate of the Syracuse University School of Management, Juris is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
