AFI Honors Five Cable TV Shows as Outstanding Programs
Winners Include Dexter; Longford; Tell Me You Love Me; The Sopranos; Mad Men

Five cable programs are among the 10 television projects selected by the American Film Institute as the outstanding programs of the year.
The AFI convenes a jury of 13 scholars, critics and trustees to select the honorees, which will be feted at a luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Jan. 11. The AFI Awards is one of the few programs that honors the entire cast and crew which collaborates to create notable films and television.
The cable honorees include Dexter on Showtime; Longford, Tell Me You Love Me and The Sopranos on HBO; and Mad Men on AMC.
The broadcast nominees include Everybody Hates Chris on The CW; Friday Night Lights and 30 Rock on NBC, and Pushing Daisies and Ugly Betty on ABC.
