USA Network Wins Weekly Primetime Battle
WWE Raw Seals Ratings Victory; Nick Wins Total-Day Race

Propelled by WWE Raw, USA Network won the basic-cable primetime battle last week, averaging a 1.2 Nielsen Media Research rating.
USA, which pulled a 4.5 rating during the 10 p.m. hour of WWE Raw on USA Dec. 10 – the third most popular cable TV show all week – edged out ABC Family and Disney Channel, which tied for second place, each with a 1.1 rating in primetime.
They were followed by TNT (1.0); TBS (0.9), Lifetime and ESPN (0.8 each); NFL Network (0.7); and Fox News Channel, A&E and Nick at Nite (0.6), according to a Disney ABC Television Group analysis of Nielsen data.
Nickelodeon, driven by SpongeBobSquarePants, won the total-day ratings period the week ending Dec. 16, averaging a 0.8 rating. It topped Disney (0.6); USA, TNT, Lifetime and ABC Family (0.5 each); and TBS, Cartoon Network, ESPN, Hallmark and A&E (0.4).
NFL games were the most popular programs on cable last week. ESPN’s Dec. 10 New Orleans Saints – Atlanta Falcons game pulled a 6.7 rating, topping NFL Network’s Dec. 13 Denver Broncos – Houston Texans telecast, which generated a 5.5 rating.
